I am a PhD student at the E.A. Milne Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Hull. My research focuses on how galaxies form, grow and otherwise change with time in differing environments. In particular I'm interested in the mechanisms driving black hole accretion in the centre of these galaxies during the so called "Active Galactic Nucleus" phase of their evolution. As an observational astronomer I use large amounts of data obtained by world class telescopes to build up a multi-wavelength and detailed description of the galactic duty cycle.
Aside from my work, I enjoy watching most sports including association football, rugby union, cricket, golf and tennis. On occasion I attempt to play some of these, albeit not well.
