I’m an applied physical geographer whose research focuses broadly on observing, measuring and modelling aspects of environmental change and its impacts. Specifically, my research centres around two main areas. The first of these broadly within the field of Applied Geomorphology, with recent work involving the measurement and modelling of bedrock erosion and soil erosion by water, the analysis of its agricultural and wider environmental impacts, and its response under scenarios of future climate change. The second research area is in the field of Applied Climatology, with recent and on-going projects focusing on analysing observed trends in mean climate and its extrems, as well as the development of site specific future climate change scenarios using downscaling techniques.
