Ylka Tapia
Head of Growth Partnerships and Executive Producer in Tenerife, España
¡Hola!
I'm Ylka Tapia, Executive Producer and Head of Growth Partnerships at El Reino Infantil, a global content company focused on preschool and family audiences. In my role, I lead a cross-functional division dedicated to accelerating growth through high-level global alliances, driving acquisition, sales and international co-production strategies with partners across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
With over a decade of experience in the 2D and 3D animation industry, I regularly attend international markets and festivals —MIPCOM, Kidscreen, Cartoon Business and MIFA/Annecy— where I identify co-production opportunities, pitch content catalogues to SVOD, AVOD platforms and linear channels, and scout new IPs of high creative value. I serve as Executive Producer of Wadoo (39x7', co-production with Mediawan Kids & Family) and Pili Pilota (52x11', global distribution with Cake Entertainment).
My career combines a social perspective, media experience and a consolidated specialisation in audiovisual production and business. I hold degrees in Social Work and Journalism from the Universidad de La Laguna, and was already working in radio and television before graduating. Over time, my path shifted towards executive production —including the independent feature film La guía del silencio—, founding my own artist communications agency, and teaching in postgraduate programmes for executive profiles. I also hold a Master's in Public Service Audiovisual Communication and a negotiation certification from Harvard Business School.
I served on the board of MIA – Mujeres en la Industria de la Animación, contributing to financial management and strategic planning, and I firmly believe that women's leadership in the creative industries goes beyond crisis management: its real strategic value lies in phases of expansion, growth and innovation.
Passionate about art, sport and nature, I find creativity at the core of everything I do — whether through acrylic painting, youth storytelling, or exploring new ways to connect with audiences.
