I was 20, in the midst of a degree in english literature, when I decided there must be more to life and bought a ticket to India. After 6 months in the splendour of the Himalayas I headed for the warmer southern states and spontaneously stopped off in a yoga ashram along the way. It was love at first asana. seriously, i was instantly hooked!

The dripping sweat, the challenge, the focus, the frustration, fatigue, and of course savasana . . finally i'd found something to take me out of my crazy, chattering, stress-inducing mind. I noticed how much better I felt after every session. I started to feel stronger, more alive, more confident, more myself. The following year I couldn't help but take more time off from college to return to India in order to practice at the original ashtanga yoga instutute. While there I underwent and intensive three month treacher training in hopes of one day sharing the benefits of this ancient wisdom.

My yoga practice is very physical, but deep down it is a sacred offering to the world. I truly believe that change happens from the inside out-- that the only way to change our world is to change ourselves. Yoga is the science of transformation: and it works! All we have to do is show up and the process will unfold.

After many more trips back to Asia and numerous meditation retreats, I decided to move closer to family in the Bay Area and am so excited to be able to share my deep love of this ancient practice. My vinyasa classes cultivate strength, depth, and balance, and challenge you to reach your edge. Guided by a strong anatomic focus, my sequences are designed to work deeply into muscular structures and release patterns of imbalance.

Expect to work hard, sweat and smile! Yoga is my celebration of this experience called life, of being in a human body and all that that entails—I love it!

My classes are dynamic, upbeat, and full of joy. My hope is that my students will have fun, find more freedom in their bodies and feel good.
