Yojiro Kitamura

Yojiro Kitamura works at the intersection of energy systems, AI governance, international development, and sustainability strategy.

His current research focuses on Energy-to-Value Systems under Infrastructure Constraints, especially in resource-rich economies such as Algeria. His work connects renewable hydrogen, Energy-to-Data, AI data sovereignty, industrial transformation, power-to-water systems, circular water value, and Japan–Algeria academic cooperation.

In addition to academic collaboration, he has practical experience in agroforestry, rural development, and renewable-energy-related projects in Mozambique. This field experience informs his interest in water, agriculture, land restoration, desertification control, and sustainable infrastructure in arid and semi-arid regions.

His broader background includes computer science, financial systems, international business, intellectual property, AI ethics, and sustainable infrastructure.

・Acted as a public consultation commentator for the World Bank and managed stakeholders in various businesses
・Active in promoting the use of AI technology and addressing ethical issues through strategic proposals and collaborations with industry, academia, and government agencies
