Hi I'm Yoko, I'm an etching printmaker and illustrator living in Tokyo.

I produce my works around the theme of places in the dark woods where spirits live. I create images of something visible, something invisible and something which used to be visible but is no longer, and also the scenery around them.

I've had many solo exhibitions in Tokyo, and group exhibitions all over the world.

As a printmaker, I specialize in copper-plate etching, sugar lift and soft ground in the making of my plates, and when I print, I use a-la-poupee printing (applying multiple color inks on to a single plate simultaneously) and apply chine-colle using a very fine Japanese "ganpi washi" paper.
