Ashwin is the first Indian bowler to dismiss a father-son (Shivnarine & Tagenarine Chanderpaul) pair in a test match.

Ravichandran Ashwin, an Indian off-spinner, is the first Indian bowler to defeat both a father and a son in a Test match. On the first day of the first Test between India and the West Indies in Roseau, Dominica, he removed Tagenarine Chanderpaul, the son of renowned West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul had earlier been dismissed by Ashwin in a Test match in 2011. He has now joined a select group of Test cricket bowlers who have eliminated both a father and a son. Others on this list of bowlers are:
