Artist. Writer. Maker. Mother. Lover.

I make clay sculptures and vessels on a kick-wheel, out of stoneware and porcelain clay. Twice a year, the clay works are packed into the 25-foot-long Anagama kiln my husband Lee and I built next to our rural New Brunswick home and studio. We then set the kiln on fire in a blazing, gorgeous, dramatic inferno, stoking the firebox every 5 minutes with local sustainably harvested wood for a period of over 7 days. The firing process emblazones on each ceramic piece, an indelible colour and texture, forever marking the works with the path of flame. We use exactly the same process to fire our works as did artists in the 8th century. It's timeless, moving and awesome. Yeah. I have exhibited my works in galleries in Canada from East to West, in France, and coming soon to Kyoto, Japan. Check that out here: www.burntnormalpottery.com

I own a small company that makes delectable, supernatural, organic skincare potions out of the best quality materials available, and under the highest ethical standards we can come up with. Check that out here: www.florafaunaskincare.com.

I am the mother of 5 amazing kids, all of whom were born at home, in ecstasy and bliss. I am a doula and a freebirth consultant, and I write on the subject of attachment parenting, sustainable living, family health, outrageousness, dissent, birth, and on the inevitable, hilarious and beautiful heartbreak of motherhood. Check that out here: www.bauhauswife.ca.

I am also a writer, an editor, a maker and teacher of piano music, a Pilates & integrative movement instructor and practitioner.

And I'm learning to take it easy.
