Yoonseok (Yoon) Choi

Yoonseok (Yoon) Choi is a Master's student in Data Mining and Predictive Analytics with a specialization in Big Data at St. John's University (Expected graduation on December 2017). During his study, he is exposed to a variety of statistical and data mining techniques to large datasets in order to generate useful information, identify patterns and trends, and build models to predict future events. Prior to graduate school, he has experience in transaction banking focusing on sales and product development (digital product strategy/marketing).

Outside of his academic life, he is very interested in strategic development of emerging technolgies including Blockchain, IoT and Artificial Intelligence. He is also an avid fan of cashless society with a keen interest in the development of digital currencies and mobile payments.

After graduation, he is interested in pursuing a career where he advises corporate and financial institutions on developing data strategy, extracting information from datasets, and applying those insights to help them make data-driven business decisions in complex business environment.
