Hello, my name is Steve. I used to live in the country Turkey. I lived in Turkey because my father was in the Air Force and was stationed over there for two years. Turkey is filled with ruins from the Roman, Ottoman, and Byzantine empires. Sometimes those ruins were just a pile of rocks, but other times they still held their original shape. The ruins would be off a random road with maybe a sign pointing to them. Sometimes there were no markings at all, just a dirt road that led to them. The best part about the ruins in the middle of nowhere is that there were no restrictions. I was able to climb all over ancient Roman forts. I was able to climb on top of the walls and enter the parts of the forts that were still standing. Also, the ruins that were in the middle of nowhere did not cost any money to go to unlike the one that were in or near cities. There were also restrictions, but not many, on the ones that were in the cities. Unfortunately, after visiting a lot of the ruins, it got kind of boring. They would all sort of looked the same and had the same history. They lost their appeal with the more that I visited.
