Yoshi Hayashi was born in Japan, where he grew up watching and learning from his father as he worked in the rigorous techniques of Japanese lacquer art. Mr. Hayashi has carried with him from his native Japan, the history and inspiration of this process and has reinterpreted the spirit of ancient lacquer traditions. Mr. Hayashi extends his work to screens, wall panels, furniture, boxes and decorative objects that are contemporary reflections of Yoshi's Japanese heritage.
