MY STORY

At age 37 years old, my late husband Lamont “Juice” Carter was diagnosed with Salivary Gland Cancer and months later I was diagnosed with breast cancer (DCIS) at the age of 35. After getting over the devistaion of being diagnosed at such an early age, and after much research, we both agreed that a lifestyle change would be a crucial part of our healing.

Juicing and eating “live” plant based foods was something we began to incorpoate into our lives. To some this is a very easy thing to do, but for others, it takes a lot of disipline. Its much more convienent to stop at a fast food resturant and grab a burger and some fries as opposed to eating raw foods or juicing. But at this point we knew that we did not have a choice if we wanted a fighting chance.

Although my husband is in Heaven now, I do believe that living a healthier lifestyle is what extended his life. Everyday I would make him a raw green juice to drink. He called it “The Incredible Hulk”. He too knew the importance of juicing and how vibirant & energetic it made him feel.

Because of our battle with cancer, we started an alternative & integrative cancer support non-profit called Juice 4 Life, Inc (www.juice4life.org). Juice 4 Life has a mission to educate and support those who would like to integrate a more healthy and holistic approach to treating the mind, body and soul as one entity when dealing with cancer. One of our services that we offer is green juicing classes. This is such a huge part of ones healing; flooding the body with the nutrients it needs to fight off infections, detoxing and rebuilding the immune system.

Since I have been teaching green juicing classes to those in which Juice 4 Life supports, I have found that lots of people love to juice and understand the importance of it, but just don't have the time to incorporate “juicing” into their busy lifestyle. You Got Juiced! has a mission to encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle through juicing some of the most medicinal fruits and vegetables we have on this earth. A portion of the proceeds form You Got Juiced! will be donated back to Juice 4 Life.
