Young Adulthood

Young adulthood is considered to be ages twenty to forty. However, emerging adulthood is considered to be ages twenty to thirty. Some major life events include graduation, getting married, having children, developing a career, and in some getting divorce. For creating an occupational balance in life you must pay attention to physical health, cognitive, social/relationships, and career/education, emotional.

Physical:

  • Maximal physical performance
  • Bones and muscles are completely developed
  • Height remains stable
  • Standing is smooth and easy
  • Body is less flexible than teens
  • Sexual organs are mature
  • Most young adults are quite healthy

It is important for young adults to pay attention to their health. Genetic and behavioral factors greatly contribute to present and future health. Some habits that can contribute to deaths in the United States include: smoking, obesity, and alcohol abuse. Taking care of your body and health can prevent these all. Lack of sleep is dangerous because it can lead to car accidents. Physical exercise is very important! If you are able to participate in healthy habits, you are able to live a well-balanced physical life.


Congitive:

Young adults are still developing cognitively. They are using their knowledge and thought to pursue their goals, career, and family; this change over time. They are able to solve partical problems and show their responsabilities to others in the commuity and in work. Young adults become more creative in thinking anayltcially (reflective) and thinking pratcially (in their life.)
