I am a software engineer, culture promoter, and entrepreneur passionate about using technology to improve learning experience.
I obtained Master of Software Engineering in 2011 from Carnegie Mellon University. Upon graduation I received a Fellowship and stayed one year in the same department researching in architecture for task oriented computing.
I have several year of experience in IT industry (more than a decade) developing enterprise systems. I am proficient in Java, C, C++, PHP, and many other enterprise IT technologies.
I was born in Korea but lived in Panama for many years, therefore I am fluent in Spanish and Korean.
My software engineering profession started in Korea where I partook in projects such as Development of International Airport Software System, Multimedia delivery Platform Improvement, Credit Information Integration.
In 2005 I relocated to Panama and founded an IT consultancy company (www.altenia.com) having clients such as Panamanian Government, LG Electronics and BBVA Bank. I also formed and lead a network that foster culture in Panama (www.culturaplus.net). Under my direction Cultuaplus.net became a well-known culture promoting body. We organized art exhibitions, and music concerts. It was a very enriching experience.
While in master program in CMU, I started a colloquium called Movers & Shakers (Moshars) where we used to gather together and discuss and brainstorm about various topics related on how we can improve the society.
I am passionate about improving knowledge sharing and learning experience. My vision is to provide a universal knowledge dissemination system where anyone can easily transmit his/her knowledge to others. At the moment I am elaborating an idea of mentoring platform, where experienced people can mentor those who are seeking for advises. If you are interested, please email me (ys.ahnpark[at] gmail [dot] com). I need someone who can complement my weakness: design, UX, front end development.
