Yukon de Leeuw
Western Canada
Yukon de Leeuw was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with the name Conner. In Kindergarten there were multiple Conners in his class and with a natural drive to stand out he longed to have a different name. His nickname at the time was Con, but that didn't fit him comfortably. One day while playing with his older sister, he wanted the attention of his parent's so they said "One of us will watch you Nathalie, (Yukon's older sister) and one of us will watch you Con." They all knew instantly that "Yukon" was the name for him and has since become his name legally.
Yukon is an artist in many fields. He grew his wings in the mountains as a freestyle ski enthusiast and likes to express himself through style on and off the mountain. Yukon is a founding member of a ski and snowboard brotherhood called Goon Squad that originated in his home town of Calgary. The group of friends has since expanded it's horizon and now has members from all across Canada. With the support of each other, Goon Squad plans to grow together and create a successful media/clothing company, as well as grow individually to reach their own personal goals. Yukon plans to become an independent pop culture icon by producing music, performing his own ideas and directing/editing his own videos.
As far as music goes, Yukon has let nearly every genre influence him and has always believed that a wide variety is most beneficial. He grew up listening to many artists such as N'sync, Simple Plan, Neil Young and the Bare naked Ladies, which is where Yukon received his fun loving performance style. He fell in love with hip hop at a young age and it continues to be one of his favorite genres. Hip hop also introduced him to genres such as R&B and Soul & Motown which is where he acquired his passionate demeanor and lyrics. He produces his own music for the most part but also loves to let other peoples styles influence his own.
