Yung Banksz
Buffalo, New York, United States
Shawn (Yung Banksz) Bankston born and raised in Buffalo, NY. The middle child of a single mom grew up in most of the poorest neighborhood in the city. He never settled in one neighborhood always going they move house almost ever 2- 5years so he never really had long term friends until about high school. He played little league football and high school football. Football was a passion of his in the day and music was a passion at night. His mother was overcoming lung cancer taking chemo and radiation treat at Roswell Park Institution and slipped into a coma during his JR year in high school. As a result, his grade were slipping he had to fend for himself at the age of 15 and 16 by selling drug(marijuana) being more interactive in the streets and introverted. There were days when he would come late to school after making drug on the upper eastside of Buffalo streets or making deals in the hallways with other students in between class. How he got into music was the influence of his older brother Dexter(Decks) rapping over New York rappers like Nas, Jay-Z, Mob Deep, Biggie Smalls, Memphis Bleek etc. with his friends and going to studio recording session with his brother. He never rapped for anyone publicly but would rap in his head while listening to his brother. The mix-tape (Money First) released in 2011 from his home studio was the only info about his current life you would possibly get. He released low budget videos on YouTube and started develop a couple thousand hits all by himself. He graduated in 2012 from McKinley High School in the bottom ranks of his class, barley passing. Prom night he released his second mix-tape(2012) dedicated to his high school career and graduation. It didn’t do the numbers he wanted so he be began to take some time from releasing music to master his craft, grow as a artist, a personal and business man. He started his own Amway/LTD business in 2011 at 17 years old and paid for his registration with drug money. Aside of that at the age of 19, he owned a recording studio business called Cold Narly Generation, and hot dog cart business called Tina’s Hot Dog Cart. The transition from a illegal to a legal business entrepreneur is definitely a huge impact on his music content, goals, and career. Listening to his music you can feel the passion about speaking the truth about himself and others. His short term goal in the music industry is to develop Cold Narly Generation into a full media production corporation, independently m
