Yvan CLAUDE
Geneva
I am a green economist and a sustainability project coordinator.
I'm specialized in agenda 21 and in designing circular economy models in relation to sustainability issues and problem solving (made-to-measure-solutions).
My work and experience also include project management, project analysis, assessment and implementation. (Agenda 21 is a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment).
I have been a banker (wealth management then ethical fund management) for 7 years. I'm currently a contractor with UNCTAD (United Nations Conference for Trade and Development), UNEP (United Nations Environmental Program) and I have also been working with various governments bodies and regions on projects since 2001.
Throughout my career, I have developed and monitored projects in Madagascar, Cameroon, Tunisia, Niger, Benin, Senegal, Ukraine, Romania, Russia and Serbia.
I currently run gaea21, a green facilitation platform and NGO that aims at implementing Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development throughout the world and provides research, education, information, tools, software and tailored solutions to that effect. gaea21 work applies circular economy models and is based on systemic approach, life-cycle assessment combined with lean management processes.
Born in Geneva (Switzerland), I grew up and was educated in the US, Cameroon, France and Switzerland. I completed a master’s degree in political economy at the University of Geneva in 1995. I specialized on public policy, environment and Agenda 21.
My thesis was based on a model including the economic factors of multiplication and acceleration, incubation and the use of BAT (Best Adapted Technologies). I also hold a certificate in systemic science from the John Hopkins university (MD, US).
I co-created gaea21 in 2005 along with an environmentalist and a biologist. I have been the president of the organization since 2005.
I am a vigorous advocate of a systemic, multi-disciplinary and multi-sectorial approach to solving problems and addressing issues in economics, environment or/and health and social matters. I'm also a financial and organizational coach for small and middle-sized structures.
I have developped a proficient experience in green tech for adoptation to climate
