Artist, Director, and Teacher in Bruxelles
Yvon Goossens is a Brussels-based visual artist, curator, teacher, and cultural project director. Holding a Master’s degree in Visual and Spatial Arts (Painting) from the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles (ARBA-ESA), he has developed an interdisciplinary practice that bridges contemporary art, pedagogy, philosophy, and intercultural dialogue.
Since 2019, he has directed La Chambre de l’Art et de la Culture, where he curates exhibitions, performances, conferences, and educational initiatives exploring the relationships between art, knowledge, and society. He also served as director of Galerie Lin / Alternative Proposition from 2019 to 2021.
Alongside his artistic practice, Goossens has been deeply involved in teaching and cultural mediation across academic, secondary, socio-cultural, and museum contexts. His work includes the creation and coordination of numerous pedagogical and intercultural projects in collaboration with institutions of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and COCOF. He regularly leads workshops and training programs focused on art, citizenship, interculturality, and creative education.
As an artist and curator, his exhibitions and projects investigate themes related to materiality, ontology, transformation, and symbolic imagination. His solo exhibitions include Cambrium (2023), Materia Prima (2021), Ontogenèse (2020), and Organique (2019). His curatorial practice has brought together emerging and established contemporary artists through experimental exhibitions, performances, and interdisciplinary programs.
Yvon Goossens is also a writer and lecturer, contributing to conferences on art, philosophy, science, and cultural transmission, while co-authoring educational publications dedicated to intercultural pedagogy and creative teaching practices.
