Zacharias Damberger
Student, Photographer, and Filmmaker in Berthoud, Colorado
Zach, a 19 year old creative, has been around artistry his whole life. His parents are full-time independent touring musicians and own their own music business. Throughout elementary school Zach traveled on every other tour with his parents around the U.S. and because of this, from a young age he has had the opportunity to see almost every state and travel widely in the U.S.
When high school began, he began to search for his own artistic outlets around the small rural town of Berthoud, Colorado where he lived. He wrote stories and blogs, learned to dance, and began learning how to shoot videos, as different modes of exploring his story-telling and creativity.
During the winter in 2013, Zach began to explore photography. He would join his best friend on landscape excursions around Berthoud. His friend took photos on the excursions, and after a few outings Zach decided to borrow his dads DSLR and take some pictures of his own.
After a few months, Zach bought a camera for himself and he began to take landscape photos daily. Later he moved on to portraits and themed photography. He taught himself how to edit, and started exploring his own creative ideas such as taking pictures of common objects in unusual settings, and later he moved into graphic design and branding.
In September 2014, Zach was invited to be a photographer for a United Nations Side Event in New York City. He returned to New York City the next year to be the only floor photographer for the same side event, gaining the experience of following his passion, but also having to perform with precision and speed under pressure. After graduating high school, his travel opportunities grew with the success of his photography, and in April of 2015 he traveled to India, the Himalayas and Bhutan as a photographer on a humanitarian project for OPHI (Oxford Poverty and Humanitarian Initiative). In June of 2015, he traveled again with OPHI to capture interviews and pictures of poverty in Colombia for a week, and then spent several weeks capturing photos and documenting a book tour around England, Germany, and Belgium.
Zach is currently studying media production at CU in Boulder, Colorado, and is growing his own business as a free-lance photographer, videographer, and graphic designer. His work can be found on various social media sites. If you are interested in hiring Zach, send him a message above.
