My name is Zach Miles, and I am the biggest basketball fanatic you will ever meet. I started playing basketball when I was 5 years old, and the love for the game started then. I continued to play recreational basketball throughout elementary school. When I entered the sixth grade, I realized that I needed to take the sport I had come to love more seriously, so I started competing in an AAU travel league where I played against higher-caliber opponents in which I would compete in AAU from 6th-12th grade. I tried out and made my 8th grade middle school basketball team, and I went on to play Varsity basketball for my 7A high school during my freshman and sophomore years. I ended up forgoing my junior and senior years of Varsity basketball to focus more on my internship, leadership clubs, and my academics, but I continued my AAU career. This past summer, I had the opportunity to workout in front of some UGA coaches, and I got an invite back to the official walk-on tryouts for the UGA basketball team in late August. I decided to not join the team and stick to playing Club Basketball where I still get to travel and compete against other colleges and universities, but it is a lot less serious. Hopefully, I can polish up my game and maybe join the real UGA team later in my college career. Not only am I a player of this game, but I am also a "superfan" of the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryant was my idol growing up, and he is the one who inspired me to play basketball and give 100% effort at all times. I even try to model some of my moves after him. Even though Kobe has retired, the Los Angeles Lakers are my team for life, and I will always be a huge supporter of the NBA.
