Based in Terrytown, Louisiana, Zachary Castillo is a Brother Martin High School alumnus and community-minded student. As a member of the Lions Club, he has been involved in projects aimed at collecting and donating eye glasses to those in need and, as a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, has performed experiments at local high schools to promote the field of engineering. Zachary Castillo was a member of the varsity soccer team at Brother Martin and has worked as a referee with the Louisiana Soccer Association since 2014.

Upon completing high school, Zachary Castillo enrolled in the pre-dental program at Louisiana State University (LSU), but soon after changed his major to environmental engineering. Since then, he has made the Dean's List and earned the LSU Tiger Excellence Award. A dual citizen of Belize and lifelong resident of Louisiana, he is particularly interested in solving issues relating to water pollution and coastal restoration.

Mr. Castillo completed an environmental health and safety internship at Signal Peak Silica in Monahans, Texas, during the summer of 2019, and has prior work experience as a dental assistant and bartender/server in Belize. He enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and skateboarding in his free time.
