The mission of Gateway School is to inspire children to lead lives of purpose and compassion through scholarship and citizenship, through a dynamic and intellectually challenging educational experience rooted in Progressive philosophy and reflective of evolving research. Founded in 1970, we are a school of 240 students in grades Kindergarten through 8th, gathering families from throughout Santa Cruz county into a warm and joyous community that celebrates and supports our children on the arc of their personal development; ultimately, we want our students to discover their individual and collective potential to make positive change in the world.

Before coming to Gateway, I worked at The Berkeley School (Berkeley, CA) in a variety of roles, including Acting Head of School, Associate Head of School, Elementary Division Head, Middle School Division Head, Elementary Summer Camp Director, and Middle School Teacher. My career in education was preceeded by working in public relations and publicity.
