My top five strengths are: Achiever, Relator, Significance, Positivity, Responsibility. After viewing my results, I found it no surprise that Achiever was my top strength. This strength basically means that I cannot go a day without a sense of accomplishment. I am always looking for ways that I can in essence, check something off my to do list. It is a very satisfying feeling for me to finish an assignment, accomplish a goal, or complete a task and I look to do this at least once everyday. I believe I identify with this strength the most because I am a very determined person. If I set my mind on something, like accomplishing a goal, I tend not to stop pursing it until I reach my desired destination. I have learned this type of commitment from many role models over the years and it has led me to a fair amount of success when I stick to it. Having the achiever strength affects my life in many ways. Overall, I think it has allowed me to continue making progress as a student and person. Having the mentality that "today I'm going to get something done" has allowed me to always make strides towards my goals. Although I am far away from where I want to be someday I think this strength has got me a good start. One assignment I completed in my first semester at Ohio State was a wellness dimensions assessment. This assessment evaluated our physical, metal, and emotional wellness balance through a short assessment. The activity helped me learn that there is a lot more to staying well than just being in physical shape. You have to work to keep both your mental and emotional health at a high level too. This will help me in the future to realize that I need to prioritize my time to allow me to have balance in all areas of wellness. This will insure that I am the healthiest human being I can possibly be. Another assignment I have completed in my time in college was a list of lessons from a first-year buckeye. This was a list of 5 tips that I would suggest to incoming freshman that I have learned in my first semester of college. In this activity it allowed me to do a sort of self reflection on everything I have learned thus far in my college experience. It was very interesting to sit and think about all of the small lessons that have taken place from simply being on my own. In the future I will be able to apply the lessons I learned from my first year and not make the same mistakes I have.
