I am a former Zen buddhist monk. Ten years ago I took off my robes and created the first agnostic nonprofit in history. By leveraging social media in creative and innovative ways we were able to raise $8.7 million with a staff of three people. We rebuilt the first orphanage and school after the earthquake. We provided full college scholarships for 30 children of Special Operations servicemen who had been killed in action, and presented The ProstateCancer Foundation with more than $1 million for research.

Today I run the Scott Zagarino Agency in Hood River, Oregon consulting with people and companies with great ideas and very little capital teaching them how to use the same social media and communications tools that made the Sportsgrants Foundation the most successful nonprofit startup in history.
