Zahira is currently working at Central Carolina Community College as a First Year Experience Courses and Studdy Skills instructor. Also tutors the Lee Early College students who are taking college Spanish. At the moment she is completing a masters degree in Judicial System with a specialization in Human Rights and Antidiscriminatory Procedures. Zahira holds a masters degree in Family and Marriage Counseling.

She is committed in supporting students through their college education process and preparing them for the work force. Working in higher education and students affairs gives her the opportunity to do that and to counsel students to be succesful academically.
