A flame, flower, and flamingo walk into the bar . . . the wind walks in and they tumble over.

I am not particularly monogamous with my disciplines: I spend my weekend over with Orwell, Hitchens, and Vonnegut and hold grand parties where all guests are invited; I spend my weekday mornings (and sometimes evenings) loafing about in the warmth with Philosophy--she's stuck around the longest--and her cute, tantrum-prone son Economics. When I do get up I shoo away the furry, scurrying Politics from my carrots and beets.
