Zain Verjee

Zain Verjee is one of the world's most respected and recognized journalists. She has anchored and reported for CNN for over twelve years. Since joining CNN in 2000, Zain has covered numerous breaking news and world events.

Zain has interviewed international world leaders and connects with the most powerful and influential men and women of our time. Zain is based in CNN London's bureau and hosts the prominent World One newscast. Zain covered the US State Department and Condoleezza Rice for CNN USA for two years closely following American foreign policy. She spent six years in Atlanta anchoring International's newscast, Your World Today. She also hosted the debate program Q&A on that network.

Zain started her career in Kenya anchoring the new for the Kenya Television Network. Her first break in media was at Capital FM radio in Nairobi where she started by reading the traffic news and hosting the 'Lovelines' program at night. There Zain also produced successful radio campaigns on HIV/AIDS.

Zain's journalistic efforts extend beyond the broadcast realm. She published Live and On the Air, a children's book exploring the experiences of a young girl who moves from rural Kenya to Nairobi to work as a broadcaster. She is currently working on her first novel, a murder mystery set in Kenya.
