zakia toombs
Hello everyone! My name is Zakia Toombs, although I'm often referred to as "Werm." I am 18 years of age and a proud Sagittarius. Graduating this past May, I was the valedictorian and president of my class at Mitchell County High School. During the last semester of my senior year I decided to venture out and start my college career a little early. I managed to obtain 13 credit hours from Albany State University. Since I am a freshman at Valdosta State University, I currently commute to my hometown of Camilla, GA every other weekend to work at a family owned restaurant called "Kebo's." It doesn't pay much, but we're more than just colleagues, we are a family. Speaking of family, I am a very family-oriented person, so most of my free time is dedicated to my immediate family and closest friends. I am TERRIFIED of animals, no matter the sort. Most of my friends categorize me as the head-strong one out of the group, and I believe that to be a good thing. I love to give advice and lend a helping hand. I was the Group Commander of my JROTC unit where our motto was "Service before self and excellence in all we do", which is my motto for life. It took forever for me to decide on a major, and although it may change in the near future, I am currently a proud nursing major. In the future I plan to join the military as an Air Force Officer. My headline reads "Just a squirrel trying to catch a nut" because I realize that I am one of many people trying to make a difference in this world. Whether the "nut" be big or small, I belong to a community of "squirrels" all with one common goal- to achieve one's own personal goals.
