Dr. Demetrios Zamboglou is the Chief Operating Officer of ICON. Demetrios has attained more than a decade of experience in the financial services industry and has successfully impacted leading edge companies and helped shape financial markets. His growing expertise ranges from boardroom strategy to hands-on operational issues including: strategy, business development; market-making; risk management; and compliance.

Demetrios has held a series of directorships and has successfully founded companies in the highly competitive trading space including leadership roles at companies such as Alpari, ForexClub, ZebraFX, FXTM and Lykke. In addition to his professional accolades, Demetrios has attained multiple honors within academia which have empowered him to introduce disruptive and innovative solutions into global financial services. Demetrios is also a passionate advocate for various charitable causes, having worked for a wide range of charities and serving multiple non-profit organisations in Europe.

Demetrios obtained his MEng in Computer Systems Engineering with concentration in Formula Engines from Lancaster University, and his MSc from CASS Business School, where he specialized in IPOs and financial markets. Demetrios also holds a PhD from King’s College London in Behavioral Finance.
