Hi, I’m Zander Zaki-Elba, a 13-year-old animal rights advocate based in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Following the tragic loss of my dog, Moksha, in 2025, I discovered that state laws strictly classified pets as inanimate property. Refusing to accept this, I authored the 'Moksha Law – Companion First Rights Act' and partnered with State Senator Paul Moriarty to introduce the legislation. I am actively campaigning to legally reclassify companion animals as living family members, ensuring grieving pet owners are granted the emotional distress protections they deserve.
