With over three decades of dedicated experience in social services, Zashnain is a seasoned consultant and community leader whose journey began at the Malaysian Sociological Research Institute, where he laid the foundation for his passion for addressing social issues.

He then transitioned to a role at Pink Triangle, where he served as the Senior Programme Manager, supporting marginalised communities such as drug users, people living with HIV/AIDS, sex workers, and transgender individuals.

Zashnain's commitment to social impact led him to join UNICEF, where he evaluated local projects, initiated programmes for out-of-school youth and children with disabilities, and raised awareness about the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Following his tenure at UNICEF, Zashnain gained valuable insights into efficiency and project management while contributing to the operational management team at an oil and gas offshore fabrication company.

Driven by a desire to make a tangible difference, Zashnain embarked on a consultancy journey in Thailand and Cambodia, where he led successful collaboration and empowerment projects for socio-economically disadvantaged communities.

Currently, Zashnain serves as a consultant with SEED Malaysia, where he continues to produce significant contributions, including the production of their Strategic Report and Transgender Training Manual, covering crucial topics such as Law & Constitution, SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression), Community Leadership, and the SecureSEED initiative aimed at enhancing physical security measures and community engagement efforts.

Throughout his career, Zashnain has excelled in community outreach, relationship-building, strategic volunteer management, and programme evaluation, leveraging his extensive multi-country experience to drive positive change and empowerment in the lives of those in need.
