Atlanta GA from the top of Stone Moumtain. Stone Mountain is 1,686 feet above sea level; Atlanta 1,010 feet. It is a solid piece of granite extending 9 miles underground and emerging 825 feet above ground located 13 miles NE of the city. Your post office probaly has stone quaried from here.
It takes me about 27 minutes to climb 1.6 miles to the top.

I try to get two climbs in per week. In Feburary 2014 I plan to take first in my age class in the Lung Association 52 story Climb for Air at the 181 Peachtree NW Building ( It's the one on the left in the picture...above the 'i' in my last name.)
