Zeenat Asra Iqbal

Zeenat represents national commercial lenders and financial institutions in a variety of commercial matters, including foreclosure and replevin actions, post-judgment actions and general commercial litigation involving breach of contract and UCC-related matters. Zeenat also advises clients on workout strategies, loan restructurings, reorganizations and liquidations both in and out of bankruptcy.

Zeenat's experience includes:

  • Representing secured lenders and special servicers in state court workouts and collection matters involving commercial foreclosures, replevins, receiverships, property seizures and garnishments.
  • Defending preference claims.
  • Representing secured and unsecured creditors in Chapter 11, Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases.
  • Negotiating and drafting forbearance agreements, loan modifications and credit agreement amendments for lender clients.

At the Washington College of Law, Zeenat was a student attorney in the International Human Rights Law Clinic, primarily serving as counsel to the D.C. Language Access Coalition, a coalition of non-profit organizations in the Washington, D.C. area.

Zeenat was raised in Bangalore, India, before moving to the United States in 2001.
