Currently i'm a responsible for the Governance and Co-operation area at Casa Mediterráneo. i'm in charge of implementing projects and I have organized a number of activities aimed at promoting dialogue among Mediterranean countries on a variety of issues, notably on gender equality and citizen participation. I have established contacts with civil society organizations and public institutions in the countries of the Southern Mediterranean, and I have undertaken outreach activities, in particular through social networks. Prior to my current position, I worked as a community manager consultant for UN Women & CAWTAR in Tunisia, promoting the political impact and leadership of Mediterranean women in social networks, including by facilitating on-line debates. Previously I held the position of cooperation project coordinator at CERAI-ARAGON, being stationed both in Morocco (Imlil) and Spain (Zaragoza and Valencia). I managed projects aimed at strengthening civil society organizations focused on women and rural development. I have participated as a speaker in conferences on topics ranging from gender mainstreaming, the role of women in social change, citizen participation, immigration and integration, and cyberactivism. I hold a Master’s degree in Gender Studies by the University of Valencia, and i am pursuing my doctoral thesis on gender mainstreaming and empowerment of rural women. I am fluent in Spanish and French, my mother tongue being Arabic.
