FAVORITE BOOK: Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami - I love it for the development of the characters, the pace, the quiet surreality, a sort of constricted weirdness that made total sense in the context of the book.

FAVORITE FILM: Casablanca - Because I love Bogie, I love that Ingrid Bergman's eyes sparkle even though the film's black and white, and I love that its themes are so timeless and universal.

FAVORITE MEDIA PRACTITIONER: The (former) hosts of Top Gear [Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May] - Three middle-aged Englishmen talk about cars, cause hijinks and manage to remain likable and funny throughout.

FAVORITE BAND: The Strokes - Each time I hear their songs I focus on something different, and I notice something new that I didn't hear before. Each part sounds amazing on their own, and yet so different. And when put together they mesh so well and it sounds so pleasing. Then they all come together as one, playing the same part, and it sounds so satisfying to me. I love listening to them each have their own unique contribution to the song, and yet have it all still mesh so perfectly.

Their melodies are catchy and sound great, their lyrics are profound and pithy, and best of all, I always feel stuff when I listen to it (specifically this weird juxtaposition of anguish and hopefulness, of wanting to live and wanting to die).

FAVORITE SITE: r/Futurology on Reddit - (social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website) A subreddit devoted to the field of Future(s) Studies and evidence-based speculation about the development of humanity, technology, and civilization. I like scrolling through it because it allows my mind to speculate and hope for the best, something which is increasingly rare as of late.

FAVORITE FOOD: Lobster rolls - because although they're hard to get (at least the proper ones) and very expensive,they're delicious and easy to consume. I would throw innocent people down several flights of stairs for a plate of it.

HOBBIES: playing video games (esp. first person shooters, real time strategy games and racing games), reading about war, history, travelling, fencing; interested in television shows and films; listens to music and podcasts; drinking alone (occasionally with other people too); write short stories, poetry and songs on occasion; scuba;
