Inspirational, motivational and spiritual, describes this performer and vocal instructor. Zena has been singing for over 30 years. Her journey began from a very young age, ministering and performing across the UK, Europe, USA and Caribbean. Her experience of singing solo, lead parts and harmonies has derived from being involved in acappella groups, choirs of various sizes. Zena's church experience has played a large part in creating a platform for her singing gospel.

Having had vocal issues with her voice led her to finding a Speech Level Singing vocal teacher in 2010, she became more interested in this aspect of vocal pedagogy, and was inspired to become a qualified and licensed teacher.

Zena's certification, began 2011 with the Speech Level Singing program, a technique patented by Seth Riggs and ended in 2013, and continues to study further with the Institute for Vocal Advancement. Becoming more equipped Zena is now passing on her knowledge to help many singers from various genres of music, technically: how to maintain longevity, extend their range, achieve a better balanced voice, understand their breathing and develop a clear distinct intonation.

Zena states: “Teaching technique is not just about walking with a student through those difficult transitions, its also about giving them the right tools to help them find release in those areas."

Zena presently teaches one to ones, and now she's developing her present role as a Visiting Music Teacher, inspiring primary school children from year 1 to year 6 and older to find their voice. Teaching them to listen, perform, compose and appraise through singing and playing basic musical instruments.

Zena states:"I'm privileged to be part of building the foundation of a child's musical learning and talent. So that one day, they can appreciate what they've been taught….It's because of inspiring teachers and their motivation I am where I am today."
