Toenail fungus isn't dangerous, but let the infection develop and you may have trouble on your hands. In the beginning, the is only some change in the color of the nail, debris caused by fungi but as time goes by the fungus causes the nail to become very distorted and thick and as even more time goes by the fungus will decompose the toenail and what this means is that part of your nail will start to disappear, to crumble. In case you're wondering, there is no pain although it should be obvious.
Does it hurt when you cut your nails?
This infection is asymptomatic because nails are made of dead matter and do not contain blood vessels or nerves.
The only time when this infection will cause pain is when it spreads to the skin and affects the skin.
It is possible, which is why you do not want to let the infection develop for a long time.

Antifungal drugs are known for causing some side effects like vomiting and drowsiness but this only happens in some individuals.
More natural treatments exist that may not cause these side-effects, such as apple cider vinegar or tea tree oil, both are antibacterial and fungicidal.
You can find these perhaps at your local pharmacy or in products which use them in a proprietary blend alongside other ingredients.
For example, Zetaclear is a homeopathic treatment that uses the tea tree oil but also almond oil, jojoba oil, lemongrass oil and manchineel tree extract.
This one isn't so reliable and it works very slowly, but some have been successful with it.
You can find it on Zetaclear website and although there have been very few complaints, it may still cause skin rashes so perhaps you should still consult with your medic about what treatment to use and if Zetaclear is a good choice for you or not, before making any choice.
In general, oral medication is more effective than topical due to an easier, more effective absorption which you may want to consi
