Marketing student at Seneca college, class of 2022

I am an international student at Toronto’s Seneca college, majoring in Marketing with anticipated graduation in Spring, 2022. Coming from China, I have an international perspective with both studying and working experiences in China and Canada. My current career goal in to explore the ecommerce industry and international trading.

My educations are

Since 2020, I have been attending Seneca College in pursuance of a Diploma of Business with a concentration in Marketing. This is a continuation of my previous Diploma of Marketing, received in Quanzhou, China between the years of 2015 to 2018, where not only did I achieved outstanding academics, but was also elected as the class president.

My professional interests are

With a Chinese background, I have experienced and enjoyed the boom in ecommerce, particularly the emergence of a new format of sales – live stream. Therefore, I am interested in joining the marketing team behind these independent live streamers.

I want to explore the possibilities and transformations that digitalization has brought to retail through the perspective of a marketer. In particular, I want to identify successful practices of marketing through partnerships with KOLs in the retail industry.

Between 2018 and 2019, I worked as a sales representation at YiFa Fashion at my hometown Quanzhou in China. My main responsibilities included greeting customers, recommending appropriate outfits, managing inventory, and handling transactions. A special duty was to assist with setting up an online store on Alibaba. This sparked my huge interest in the growing trend of moving into the ecommerce industry.

Coupled with a marketing internship at Yunshan Tea over the summer of 2018, doing market research, I am equipped with not only the knowledge in sales but also skills to survey and meet market demands.

My special skills are

Fluent in Mandarin and having working proficiency in English, I am bilingual and can attend to customer needs from all over the world. Moreover, I am interested in photography so I am also capable in using PhotoShop for photo editing, which proved to be especially useful for ecommerce.

My hobbies are

Outside of school, I enjoy water sports like diving and swimming. You can also find me at a dance studio practicing for the next performance.
