Zeyad Faqih

In 2010, Structural Engineer Zeyad Faqih worked on a private residence in Palm Springs, California, that won a design award from the National Concrete Masonry Association/Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute. The house, which affords views of the San Jacinto Mountains and the Coachella Valley, boasts 3,217 square feet of living space, polished concrete floors, a floating roof canopy, and concrete masonry walls. Zeyad Faqih worked on the impressive structure as Chief Engineer of RF Structural Consultants, Inc., where he has served since 2006. Mr. Faqih possesses 26 years of experience in the engineering industry. He took his first job with the County of Orange in Santa Ana, California, just after he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1985. Zeyad Faqih remained with the County of Orange until 2006, when he accepted his current position. In 2005, he graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with a MS in Civil Engineering.

Zeyad Faqih’s credentials include certification as a professional engineer as well as a mechanical, plumbing, and electrical inspector; in addition, he holds certification as a building official and a plans examiner. He participates in a number of professional organizations, as well, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Concrete Institute, and the Post-Tensioning Institute. With extensive experience in all facets of the engineering industry, Zeyad Faqih has worked on residential, commercial, and industrial projects and conducted plan reviews in all disciplines. He acted as a conflict resolution officer for plan reviews and inspections and has dealt with complicated inspections and high-profile clients. At the County of Orange, Zeyad Faqih supervised a team of six professionals and oversaw the public counter. In addition, he had responsibility for coordinating plan checks with other County offices, and he provided both procedural and technical assistance to inspectors and fellow engineers in the form of training sessions. One of Mr. Faqih’s major accomplishments involved the creation and implementation of a cross-training program that benefited both the inspection and the plan check staff. Throughout his career, Zeyad Faqih has dealt with a wide variety of homeowners, engineers, general contractors, permit processors, and architects.
