I’m Zhané, a student at the University of Johannesburg living in Eldorado Park, South of Johannesburg.

A little more about me.

I belong to the Old Apostolic Church of South Africa, this mean that I hold Christ as the center of my life, and that I acknowledge Him in every aspect of my life. Being in the field of education does not mean that I will enforce my spiritual beliefs on my learners, my spirituality teaches me to respect all individuals as they are and to support them in every way possible.

It was not my dream to be a teacher but I fell inlove with the idea of having to positively influence a young heart to reach for the sky because there is no limit to how much one can achieve. I also want to be the teacher I never had, constantly believing in my learners abilities and nurturing and nourishing their young minds with valuable information.

I am inspired by my lecturers and tutors because they exhibit a growth mindset and constantly work hard to help me achieve my goals of being an excellent teacher. My interests in Education are curriculum studies, school management and literacies. I also believe that one's abilities and skills can be stretched, thus allowing to hold the believe that abilities are not carved in stone (Dr Carol Dweck, Mindset).
