Azelea Bakrie-Stephens
Now based in London, United Kingdom, Azelea (ZieBee) is your not-so-authentic Malaysian - mathematically speaking, she is 1/4 Malay, 1/4 Japanese, and 1/2 Chinese.
A BA in Mass Communication Graduate, she specialises in Film & Television and Journalism with PR and Advertising as her electives. Though, due to her passionate flair in creativity, she chooses to express it in words - literally. Previously in Kuala Lumpur, she had been employed as a copywriter and screenwriter. In her free time however, she has won a few awards in Masakini's 24-hour Theatre Project (as screenwriter), managed events, and at the same time became a part-time runway model and DJ. She also loves to play the piano and cello, by the way (though not to a professional extent).
Before all this though, she had spent pretty much 12 years of her life growing up as the fat ugly kid in school thinking she would be some kind of a doctor, biologist or astrologist, until she completed her A-Level equivalent exams. And because her doctor declared her obese by the age of 14 (weighing 92.9kg (about 205 lbs) - her maximum mass medically recorded), she had started exercising and eating more fruits and vegetables, but doesn't ignore her sweet tooth every now and again. To date, she is famed for her brownies and all sorts of cakes and biscuits, and the occasional traditional meals (whatever that means, according to her genetic makeup).
And now, she finds herself in London to live with her loving husband, and as part of her sharing nature, come share all her life's adventures on her blog or facebook page!
