Harinder "Ziggy" Samra
Being a student at the Milgard School of Business over the last two years I have had the opportunity to study at one of the best business schools on the west coast. The small class sizes and quality learning environment has enabled me to build my skill set, most notably the importance placed on learning in a group environment has allowed for class projects to closely resemble the many challenges and rewards of realistic team work.
My experience as a Realtor and also as a Manager of my family business has always placed upon me a great sense of importance as it was through hard work and dedication that I have been successful. Having been able to build up my own business has showed me the many trials and tribulation involved in the business world, but also the joy of success in building something from the ground up. Since my early start in the business world I have been blessed to be surrounded by great mentors and leaders in their perspective fields who have enforced the essentiality of a "customer first" business strategy.
I am also fortunate to be a key member of the University of Washington's Marketing Society and am privileged to be affiliated with a society which helps the surrounding community and my fellow students. This year I have the distinguished honor of serving as Vice President and CFO of the society. As a person who is always wanting to help other students learn I feel the society has enabled me and my fellow officers to enhance the student mind of the complexity and success that can be achieved in business, by bringing these student and businesses together through forums and networking events.
