Initially founded as CloudApp in 2010 with the aim of allowing people to share screenshots and files without having to download to view, CloudApp evolved as a leader in visual asynchronous collaboration with features expanding its offering to include annotated screesnshots, recording GIFs, screen recordings, and web recordings across multiple platforms and growing their users to over 4 million people worldwide.

In 2023, CloudApp rebranded to Zight, a playful adaptation on sight, to better represent their expanded product offering, focus on user experience and commitment to becoming the best way to visually communicate for people, teams and enterprises of all sizes.

Zight has raised $21.1M in funding from investors including: Cervin Ventures, Grayhawk Capital, Kickstart Fund and Nordic Eye, New Ground Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Peninsula Ventures, Forward VC, Adobe Ventures and customers Peter Kazanjy, CRO of Atrium, and Derek Andersen, CEO of Startup Grind and Bevy.
