Zipporah Lomax
Through my voice and fingers I have spent my life telling stories.
Even as a child, I wanted to show the universe how I perceived it and I endeavored to find the clearest way to communicate that.
Photography, in particular, truly fascinates me – this incredible technology that allows me to gather up bits of three-dimensional light, press it into two-dimensions and share it with others who were not there to witness its original reflection. It's magic, really...this ability to archive wonderfully fleeting moments and give voice to stories that might otherwise remain unheard.
The world makes a certain kind of sense when viewed through my camera’s lens. My vision turns childlike, full of optimism and curiosity. I become a quiet observer, acutely aware of my surroundings, charmed by the smallest of details.
I am especially attuned to the quieter, less obvious moments...equally inspired by the ephemerality of dewdrops as I am enamored with the most subtle of human expressions.
In an increasingly complex world, it is everyday simplicity that I find most alluringly beautiful.
