Zishan Reza Rahman

Zishan Reza Rahman is a Bangladeshi civic entrepreneur, economics researcher, writer, creative artist, and institution builder whose work spans economics, public policy, governance, education , social democracy and social innovation. Driven by the belief that ideas can shape societies, he builds institutions and platforms that empower young people to think critically, engage in evidence-based dialogue, and create meaningful public impact.

He is the Founder and President of the Board of Directors of ActionX Bureau International (ABI), a nonprofit Parent organization that develops and oversees a growing ecosystem of civic, academic, media, and social-impact initiatives. Under ABI, he leads projects including the National Parliamentary Olympiad, National Youth Parliament Bangladesh, International Social Business Olympiad, The Econ.Tech Journal, and Editorial International.

As the Chief Secretary of the National Parliamentary Olympiad, Zishan contributes to a national youth initiative dedicated to parliamentary education, public policy, leadership, and democratic participation. The platform brings together students from across Bangladesh through research, competition, civic engagement, and intellectual exchange.

He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of The Econ.Tech Journal, an independent publication exploring economics, technology, artificial intelligence, governance, and sustainable development. Alongside this, he leads Editorial International, a citizen journalism and civic intelligence platform that connects researchers, journalists, scientists, writers, and young changemakers to produce thoughtful, research-driven public-interest content.

Beyond the nonprofit sector, Zishan is building SeaJ Group, an entrepreneurial ecosystem developing purpose-driven ventures across lifestyle products, agriculture, and innovation. Its portfolio includes SeaJ Collection, home to brands such as SeaJ Shoes , and Zillion , SeaJ Seduction and alongside SeaJ Agrigo, an initiative focused on value-added agricultural products and sustainable enterprise.

He is also a Key Person of the 3ZERO Club for Economics, where he works on youth-led social business and sustainability initiatives inspired by the 3ZERO philosophy of Professor Muhammad Yunus. Among the club's flagship projects is the development of a biodegradable jute-cellulose bag, a Bangladeshi innovation designed as a sustainable alternative to single-use plastic, demonstrating the potential of social business to address environmental challenges through locally driven innovation.

Professionally, his experience combines economic and policy research, editorial leadership, organizational strategy, institution building, business operations, and youth development. He has worked across research organizations, civic institutions, and educational initiatives, contributing to strategic communications, project management, policy discussions, and cross-sector collaboration.

Beyond research and leadership, Zishan is a writer, poet, songwriter, musician, and scriptwriter. He believes creativity is an essential companion to policy and research—that art has the power to express ideas where statistics and reports cannot. His interests in literature, music, and storytelling continue to shape both his personal philosophy and his professional work.

His research interests include economics, political economy, governance, public policy, education reform, artificial intelligence governance, social business, sustainable development, and civic innovation. Through his writing, institutional leadership, and entrepreneurial initiatives, he seeks to strengthen youth participation in intellectual discourse while promoting thoughtful, evidence-based solutions to contemporary challenges.

He is an alumnus of the Aspire Leaders Program, a global leadership initiative founded by Harvard Business School faculty, and has been recognized through national and international academic, leadership, and policy programs for his contributions to youth engagement and public discourse.
