At a young age, I have been passitionate about teaching, the focus being in Mathematics. I taught and tutored most of my younger cousins as well as friends. I helped them how to get the homework in what ever subject it may be and prepare them for test. I absolutely love teaching children and enjoy learning from them. Everyday I wake up always trying to change a childs life. My goal for my future is to hear atleast one child say to me that I inspired him/her to become someone in life and that I kept them on the right track.

I am a 2013 Golden Apple Scholar. Golden Apple's mission is to inspire, develop and support teacher excellence in Illinois, especially in schools of need. Being in Golden Apple has given me the chance to spend four weeks in the summer in a school of need. Also it has given me the experience to teach and interact with diverse children. Besides working the summer school in Golden Apple, I also worked in a program called Jumpstart. In Jumstart I got the chance to work in a preschool and help these students get a head start for they can start Kindergarden. With all these experiences I have worked with various age groups as well as diverse communities and I absolutely love every opportunity I have.
