Hello! I’m Zoe - a composer, performer, producer, and a third year CMT student. I’ve done quite a bit of performing/songwriting for myself (singing/piano/guitar, sometimes a little bit of drums). At the moment, I enjoy composing film music - particularly orchestral/pop/electronic music (using Logic Pro X), and am making a film soundtrack for a solo project.

I enjoy operating sound and lighting for live events - I have experience interacting with artists and giving direction during soundchecks/rehearsals, then mixing their sets. I also had the opportunity to film/edit the BTS Video (using Da Vinci) for the uni’s talent show ‘Univision’ which featured on their live broadcast. Joining Surrey Stage Crew has allowed me to explore different interests and learn more technical skills.

Last semester I had the opportunity to explore further into sound design for film, including foley/sound effects. I really enjoyed the project and now want to collaborate with other film makers and learn more about the various methods of storytelling!

In relation to the project, I want to explore more of the assistant director/editing roles, or potentially compose a piece for the short film, experimenting with sound to play around with the illusion of reality/time. I am interested in making a short film that blends both the 3D and 2D world (hopefully using advanced filmmaking techniques). I’m eager to learn new skills from others, and I can’t wait to be a part of a team!

My favourite directors are Wes Anderson, Alfred Hitchcock, Ridley Scott, Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan and Quentin Tarantino :)
