Zachary Carlson
I am Zachary Carlson, and I have a passion for car audio. Everyone knows that one kid that plays their music extremely loud in their car and their car vibrates from bass nonstop. Well, ironically, that kid is me. However, there is more to it than just the vibrations of bass that provides therapy to me after a long exam. The amount of work, research, money, and most importantly, heart that goes into these projects and builds is unheard of to someone that isn't a "basshead." Us bassheads spend thousands of dollars every year to rebuild our systems over and over to go bigger and badder. The amount of passion for this hobby is unreal; talking to the people all over Georgia shows that these people have a true connection with their cars. The amount of man hours devoted to these cars can skyrocket into days straight of building. Most people know that this hobby exists, but the caliber of extremity that people can indulge into this hobby is unreal and unheard of outside of the people that know. The point of breaking windshields, window motors, door panels, and anything imaginable isn't a bad thing to bassheads, but a sense of accomplishment that you got that loud in a car to shatter a mirror. To me, this is not a hobby. Bass is a lifestyle in my eyes. To the left of this is a picture of my subwoofers and box that I made and installed in my car by myself. Yes, maybe everything in my car could have paid for a semester of housing, but when I can drive around without having to think about anything else and blaring my ears out, that is when I am in my happy place.
The video called "Basshead" below shows the sound system in action, which is really fascinating and also shows the subwoofer moving and a picture of my extra batteries and amplifier. (Turn the sound on please, but not too high!)
