Zvi Sperling

A respected presence in the lighting industry, Zvi Sperling oversees Southern California-headquartered Maxim Group Companies and provides solutions in the production and distribution of quality lighting products. The company of whose leadership Zvi Sperling is a part started in a Los Angeles basement in the early 1970s and was still small-scale when he joined it in 1975.

Mr. Sperling was successful in orchestrating growth that involved moving from a 3,000-square-foot footprint to a state-of-the-art 50,000-square-foot-manufacturing plant. He subsequently coordinated with Chinese partners in shifting production from California and Mexico to Asia in the 1980s.

Having handed over manufacturing capacities to regional partners in the 1990s, Mr. Sperling’s firm continues to coordinate design efforts closely with trusted lighting fabricators. The result is sought-after products sold under brands that include Lutron, Light by Luxeon, and CREE. The sales network he manages spans more than 100 representatives across 45 agencies in markets throughout the Pacific Rim and Western Hemisphere.
