Team Evolution

Our slate, GSS evolution 2012, is running for a twin mandate: we hope to better use the GSS Koerners' House, and we hope to build on the advocacy foundation of last year's executive team. The GSS Koerner' House reflects a beautiful gift by the Koerner foundation and has the potential to become a focal point for graduate student life and culture on campus if it is properly utilised. Our team will collaborate with graduate students and UBC to make sure that the GSS Koerners' House is revitalised as a hub for the graduate student community that is enjoyed by all UBC graduate students. From an advocacy perspective, the GSS has grown its lobbying reach by joining groups like the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations and the Western Canadian Graduate Student's Association this year, and by enhancing cooperation with other BC Graduate Student groups. By being bold, transparent, and collaborative, we will work with external stakeholders and UBC to make sure that the needs and concerns of all graduate students are represented at the university, Provincial, and National level.
